What do I wear? Should I have my nails done? Can we reschedule if it's too cold?
As you can tell, I get a lot of questions once clients have booked a session - which is great! I want you to be as prepared as possible for your session and asking questions tells me how invested you are in the final product.
Your session is going to be unique. It's going to be adventurous. I don't want to shoot the images you see everyone else producing, I want you to have something that is uniquely yours. Something that reflects your personality. If that's a field of flowers, great. But I'm guessing it's not. I'm not your grandma's photographer... but I can guarantee at the end of our time together your grandma will be crying with the images we produce together.
So read over the questions and if you still have burning questions at the end of it all... give me a shout!

1. What should I wear?
-Layer, layer, layer! Layering clothes creates texture and interest. You can layer with sweaters, vest, scarves, even jewelry.
- Don’t be twinkies. Although both you and your fiance’s clothes should compliment each other, don’t be too matchy matchy, it looks silly.
-Accessories {for all you girls out there} this is a big one. If you wear bracelets, layer them. Chunky jewelry, bright jewelry, fun shoes.
- Wear something you’re comfortable in. You don’t want to spend the entire time pulling and tugging at your clothes and you want to be able to move about easily. If you’re uncomfortable, it will show.
- I always recommend changing clothes at least once. Personally, I think doing 1 set that’s a little dressy and the other that’s more casual is a great idea.
- Darker colors are usually more slimming, but don’t be afraid to wear lighter colors, if it’s something you love!
- Don’t wear clothes with writing/brands on them, unless it’s something that you are wanting to highlight (college teams, hobbies, etc). They can be distracting and usually too casual.
- Wear patterns in moderation. You don’t want the pattern to be distracting, so go for subtle ones, unless of course, you want it to make a statement!
- On most shoots, we’re going to do some walking! So, if you’re going to wear those awesome new heels, bring a pair of flip flops or comfy shoes to change into while we’re getting from location to location.
- Don’t forget accessories. This goes back to the layering, jewelry, scarves, headbands, watches…make your outfits YOU!
- No matter what your clothing choices are, have fun!!
2. Can we reschedule our session if the weather turns out to be too cold?
This is a tricky question, but most of the time the answer is no. If it rains or snows we will reschedule your session, but since we live in Oklahoma, it's a little hard to reschedule for cold weather. Our schedule books up in advance, so moving sessions becomes quite a task. We know you'll understand.
3. How long is a normal session?
Depending on my couple, I like to shoot anywhere from an hour to two hours. If the guy just isn't feelin it, I'll get the shots I need and wrap it up, but if we're all havin a good time we could shoot for up to two hours.
Kids, if you have kids in your session, the time will depend on how they are doing. If we get a crabby one who just isn't havin the time of their life because they missed their 1 o'clock nap... I'll get the shots I need and try to wrap it up. After all, if the kids are stressed out, chances are the parents have had enough as well. But rest assured, we will still produce some beautiful shots of your kiddo!
4. How long does it normally take to get images back from out session?
Like I said, we book up in advance, so our books are quite full. In order to pay extreme attention to detail in all our clients images it normally takes anywhere from 2-3 weeks for you to receive your proofs. However, I'm normally so excited after a session that I will post a 'preview' on my blog within a few days of our session so you can get a feel for what I was able to capture in our time together.
5. Will you travel for a shoot?
Of course. I am located in Tulsa, Oklahoma and love to travel. Wedding? Engagement session? Family? No problem. There is a cost associated with travel though, so make sure we chat first so we can both agree on the terms.
6. Am I allowed to share my images on Facebook?
Absolutely. The only thing I ask is that you give photo credit on each image that you post. I want you to be proud of your images just like I am. So, post 'em , tweet 'em or just love 'em. Whatever you do, make sure to give me a shout out! ALLISON LEE PHOTO
